In Nigeria, the results of the skills assessment have shown that a large number of stakeholders evaluated were aware of
the availability of the existence of evidence bases accessible by internet, had the skills to use the internet and had the 
capacity to identify and obtain data evidenceThe participants had knowledge and skills to use evidence in policy development, on the other hand, their institution had limited capacity to support the use of evidence-based.

The Regional Workshop to validate the Situation Analysis of Knowledge Translation and Use of Research Results in MNCH was held in Dakar from 18 to 20 February. The objective of the workshop was to ''validate the findings of the situation analysis and
identify interventions to be implemented
'' The workshop gathered together seventy-six participants including MNCH policy makers, researchers, consultants, MNCH learned societies, United Nations regional offices, IDRC, the Canadian government, WAHO and the entire project team.

Since the beginning of August a situation analysis of the project has been underway, with a view to facilitating data collection on the status of knowledge transfer and use of evidence, factoring in gender/equity, and identification of enabling or inhibiting systemic factors in the area of maternal and child health. Nine consultants , of whom three regional (Pr. Ongolo, Pr. Agyepong and Ms. Lasron and 6 others (Mr. Balogoun, Mr. Zida, Dr. Gordon, Dr. Bagayoko, Dr. Uneke, Pr. Sall) from Benin, Burkina, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria and Senegal, respectively, conducted the activity.

Implementation Teams (ERMO) and the consortium of partners supporting the project.
