The Innovating for Maternal and Child Health in Africa (IMCHA) initiative is jointly funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC). It was launched in March 2014 with a funding volume of C$ 36 million over seven years and supports 28 research grants (19 original research grants and 9 synergy grants) in 11 African countries.
